PERSONNEL MENU

Overview
The PERSONNEL menu is for either editing the name and details of existing personnel or else adding new ones.

Summary of numbered items

  1. SELECT DROPDOWN LIST - Select 'NEW' to add a new person or else select an existing person to edit their details.
  2. STAGE NAME - Enter or edit forename, middle initial and surname.  These details will be used in BackStage data.
  3. PASSPORT NAME - These fields are not currently used by BackStage but will be in future releases to ease touring administration in the case of players who play and travel under different names.
  4. ADDRESS DETAILS - Enter full address details.
  5. BOOKING CITY DROPDOWN LIST- Optional field for orchestras that pay their members from the city they travel from rather from the city where the orchestra is based.  Select a city from the dropdown list and expenses set against that city will automatically be added to players linked to that BOOKING CITY.  (BOOKING CITIES can be added to the list by select the BOOKING CITY menu item.)
  6. BOOKING CATEGORY LISTBOX - Select a booking category from compére, conductor, player, soloist or staff.  The category an individual is made a member of decides which lists their name will be included into.  An individual can be a member of more than one group.  (i.e. When BackStage allows you to select a conductor, it will only show you the personnel listed as conductors etc.)
  7. INSTRUMENTS LISTBOX - If an individual is marked as a player (see 6,) then the instruments a player plays must be entered.  This allows BackStage to only display the relevant players for each section.  (NB when BackStage displays players that are required to play particular doubling instruments, it will only display the players in it's database that play those instruments.  Hence it is important to include all instruments that a player plays here.)
  8. ACTIVE CHECKBOX - Allows the user to deselect a player as when they are no longer to be used by the orchestra.  Players are never deleted from the database since it could corrupt the data for past PROJECTS.  However, marking a player as no longer ACTIVE means they will no longer populate any BackStage lists.
  9. TITLE TEXTBOX - Title individual would like to be known under.  Used in correspondence.
  10. GENDER DROPDOWN LIST (MALE or FEMALE) - Used when populating gender list on OUTPUT page.
  11. GENERAL COMMENTS TEXTBOX - These are displayed on the PERSONNEL page to help when deciding who to book.
  12. CONTACT DETAILS - Enter contact details.  Mobile phone number must include international dialling code in order to use the 2434.com SMS gateway.  Email must be a valid and unique email address in order for the individual to be granted a unique password to access the BackStage generated web pages.
